About the Visionary

Unraveling the Story behind the Vision.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1972, a young girl faced early challenges as her mother, unable to provide for her, left her in the care of her blind grandmother in the rural area of Chihota. While her mother sought work in the city, the girl took on household responsibilities, impacting her education and life significantly.

In Chihota, child marriages were common, especially among girls aged 13 to 16. However, when this girl reached this vulnerable age, a couple came forward, taking her to the city and becoming her sponsors. This pivotal moment changed her life, allowing her to escape the challenges faced by girls in Chihota.

Today, as a grown woman, she empathizes with the struggles faced by young girls in Chihota. She emphasizes the societal limitations imposed on them, with their potential restricted to being wives and mothers.

Drawing from her personal experiences, including caring for her grandmother, being a result of child marriage, and the transformative impact of strangers’ assistance, she founded Lily of Valleys Home of Hope. Their mission is to empower adolescent girls and young women, instilling hope and providing opportunities to pursue their dreams, free from abuse.
